Color Challenge

The If the Shoe fits...Scrap It! Color Challenge was definitely a challenge.  But I was prepared!  Turns out the colors in the challenge are a part of the new So Chic line.  Ha ha!  So I pulled up a digital page I was working on in SBC+ that featured me singing with my sister at her karaoke wedding reception.  It's goofy and for some reason it wasn't working when I started working on it a few weeks ago.  Yesterday, when I played around with it some more, I finally got it looking the way I actually envisioned.

I used the French title because she's in Cameroon right now doing the Peace Corps thing.  Anything in French reminds me of her.  I miss her terribly.

The So Chic digital kit is a customer gift and not available for purchase.  However, you can purchase the Make it for Mom Featured Project Bundle which features the Limited Edition So Chic Paper Album Kit!

Sketch Challenge

I feel like a fickle challenge-enterer.  I haven't done Sunday Scrappin' in two weeks!  And then a new blog with challenges came about, so I wanted to check it out.

All my challenge pieces have been digital lately (except for some Valentine's Day stuff).  Frankly, it's exhausting being THIS pregnant and trying to get out all my stuff only to have to put it all away again.  So I happily click away in SBC+.

If the Shoe fits...Scrap It! promises to be a really cute site with lots of challenges and design ideas.  I like the sketch challenge because it takes the guess work out of making a basic layout.  My sister has all those old Creative Memories template books and really do prefer to have a guide for my layouts.  I'm just not always good at coming up with my own "thing."

Anyway, here's my digital 12x12 page for today's Sketch Challenge.  This is Corey and Aiden from Easter like two years ago.  I'm still really proud of that egg we hid.  It was the last one found.

Digital card: Love

I was inspired by a card in the CM Project Center to make this:

This was a good exercise for me in layering, flattening, and transparency.

Sunday Scrappin: Round

Sunday Scrappin':  "This week, let's think outside the box and go round.... rounded corners, circle-shaped cards, a layout in a circular pattern, etc. Be creative!"

I've been digiscrapping like crazy these past few weeks with StoryBook Creator Plus.  For this week's challenge, I used the Family Digital Kit and made a couple pages with some circles on them:

(two of my boys with their cousins)
(Simon with another cousin)
Tah-Dah's:
  • Doing these layouts!
To-do's:
  • I have two Get Togethers this week, so I have to make sure I'm ready for those.
  • Put the actual scrapbook pages into the coverset I bought for the Maine album
  • "                                                                       " I bought for the Disney album
My kids have passed the flu down the line and the youngest has it now.  Hopefully, Jamie and I won't get it.  Crossing my fingers and toes...

Check out other Sunday Scrappin' folks and link to your own!

No More Excuses!

One of the most popular reasons people give me for not "getting into" scrapbooking is, "I don't have time!"

I understand.  Believe me!  I don't have time every day to pull out ALL of my tools, ALL of my photos, and ALL of my paper.  And don't get me started on the days when I don't even know what I want to work on!  (I won't tell you hwo many albums I have in progress...)

So what if you have a project in mind but need a quick way to get it done?  There are definitely a few options for you.

Go Digital!

If most of your photographs are digital, they're most likely sitting on your hard drive, just waiting for you to print.  Am I right?  Here are some things to do with your digital pictures:
  • Upload them to CMPhotocenter.com and get them printed for super cheap.
  • Create a StoryBook!  You can still get StoryBook Creator 2.0 for free and download tons of cute (free) themes to make your own keepsake photo album.
  • Create lots of unique photo gifts on CMPhotocenter.com like mugs and Personalized Poems
Use my CM ID 21652231 when you register for CMPhotocenter.com and get 20 free prints!

Paper Album Kits!

Paper Album Kits are a quick and easy way to complete a giftable album for someone special in your life.  Each kit comes with everything you need to create your album: photo mats, embellishments, and an envelope for mailing!  Everything is perfectly coordinated, so there's no need to hunt around for just the right stickers to match.

Psst!  There are three Paper Album Kits on sale in the While Supplies Last section of my website.

Quick Kits!

I love Quick Kits!  There was one day that I sat down with the 8 x 8 Pet Quick Kit and said, "I'm going to finish this today."  You know what?  I DID.  It was such a fun and satisfying way to put together an entire album in a short amount of time!

Like the Paper Album Kits, the PicFolio Quick Kits come with everything you need to create a perfectly coordinated album.  Seriously--just add pictures!

PicFolio Quick Kits come in 8 x 8 or 12 x 12 album sizes.  Visit my website for more details!

So what are you waiting for?  No more excuses!  You DO have time to put those pictures in albums, and if you ever need help, I'm always here.  :)

Sunday Scrappin': Sweets

This week's Sunday Scrappin' theme is "A Sweet Treat."  Since I'm all digital lately, I decided to whip up a layout featuring me and my sweetheart.  :)

Made in StoryBook Creator 2.0 with the Cherish theme
My Ta-Da's:
  • I finally finished Simon's StoryBook last week!
  • Been doing tons of CM marketing and had a couple sales
My To-do's:
  • Reach my sales minimum for the month!
  • Have a successful crop on Saturday
The lists are short, but I have been really focusing on CM this week.  I don't want to deactivate (again!).  :)

Be sure to check out all the other Sunday Scrappin' folks!  There are lots of cute layouts to be seen.

Finis!

Simon is 2.5 years old.  Can you believe it?  Well.  Shame on me, but I finally sat down to do his StoryBook yesterday.  The good news is that I completed the entire thing in one day!  Here are my two favorite pages:

Snow Day

Funny I should leave a comment on Chrissy's blog about it never snowing around here.  It snowed today!  It didn't last long and it never stuck, but it was still amazing for those in the family who had never seen it before.

Accomplishments

I spent alll day yesterday feeling uncomfortable and miserable, probably as a result of our massive efforts on Sunday to organize the third bedroom into a craft room/play room.  I pretty much just sat around and whined all day while ordering the kids around.  There was one accomplishment, though: I started and completed a Faithbook to use as an example in future workshops.  This was a difficult project for me since I'm not an outwardly religious person.  Still, I think the finished product turned out to be lovely.

I have uploaded my Faithbook on CMPhotocenter.com.  If you'd like to be invited to view the entire book, drop me an email with your contact info (first name, last name or initial, & email address).

Faithbooking

If I can get it together, I'm planning to offer a Faithbooking Workshop soon.  This, of course, gave me an excuse to start a new project.  I spent most of the morning choosing my theme, picking out photos, and getting everything into the StoryBook Creator.  Let the fun begin!

Sunday Scrappin'

My first Sunday Scrappin' post!  I hope I'm doing it right. We've been challenged to use the color blue in our projects.  Since we're busy reorganized the back room as a craft room/play room, I couldn't get to my stuff!  So I decided to whip out my StoryBook Creator and download the Vintage Blues theme.

I took this photo the other day of our newest kitty Scraps (appropriately named!).  She's definitely the baby in the house for the moment and spends a lot of time snuggled up on my bump while I'm at the computer.  I don't know what she's going to do when the baby gets here!

My Ta-Da's from last week:
  • Starting on the album from our Maine trip that we took in 2005!
  • Mostly other business-related stuff like putting together fliers for the Valentine's products and baby shower gifts
My To-Do's for this week:
  • Complete four more pages in the Maine album (shouldn't be hard since it's 8 x 8)
  • Complete Simon's baby Storybook or at least do 10 pages
  • Upload more of my pictures to CMPhotocenter.com so I can get the rest of my Maine album finished!
